Have a story you’re itching to tell? Unsure about how to tell it or who to tell it to? Dubious about whether anyone even wants to hear it?
Imago Performing Arts has the ointment for that itch!
With a nod to our friends at The Moth, SpokenStorySlamKC invites you to share your compelling, funny, tragic, sweet, memorable moments of life…or just come to listen. Story builds community; let’s build ours! We invite you to become a part of the construction crew!
BTW, for the cautious ones among us, masking is not required, but always respected.
Please be aware we may need to require masking should conditions deteriorate, and we find ourselves needing another level of protection.

3. Be Prepared
If you've got a story to tell (and we all do!), but the thought of telling that story in front of a live audience makes you want to curl up in a fetal position and suck your toes, then help is on the way. We have two optional workshops designed to help you structure and tell your story in the most effective way with the least amount of angst. Optional Workshops: Discovering Your Story: Date and time TBA. Contact us at info@imagoarts.org to let us know you’re interested! Structuring Your Story: Date and time TBA. Also available: Individual coaching sessions! |

A COVID Community Storytelling Project
Coming soon!
Believing it will take more than a vaccine, a negative test, or a normal temperature to heal from our collective COVID-19 pandemic experiences and convinced that story is a crucial part of the healing process, IPA is excited to bring you our community storytelling project! This original work is currently in development and will be based on the stories you tell us. These stories will be curated and edited by IPA’s artistic director, Bobbie Jeffrey. The project welcomes director Will Sharp Williamson to the IPA stage.
