Imago. Imagine with us...
Learners of all ages, colors, backgrounds, and faiths telling a diverse and inclusive story.
Learners of all ages, colors, backgrounds, and faiths telling a diverse and inclusive story.
Imago, Latin for image and the root word of imagination, reflecting the seminal idea that we are created to create. Nothing calls forth creativity like the sense of belonging, the aesthetic accountability, and the freedom to experiment found in true community. As that community is built, we are inviting you to experience not only what it produces, but also to be part of its creation. The need for the goodness, beauty, and truth such a community could share has never been greater.
Imago Performing Arts, a new arts organization located in Belton, seeks to offer itself not only as a home for audiences longing for the product such a community offers but as a place of belonging for storytellers of all ages yearning for the process such a community builds.

Diversity Statement
Everyone has a story. Stories matter. They’re at the heart of what makes us human. Stories have power to bridge the gap of partisanship, polarization, suspicion, distrust, and hatred. Stories build understanding between disparate communities and in the process, build new, healthy communities.
Stories change hearts.
Imago is committed to the idea that in order for our stories and humanity to be shared and respected, diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging are the rights of every human being, and they matter to the telling of every story. This includes the acknowledgement of historical marginalization and oppression of underrepresented groups and the acknowledgement that individually and organizationally, we must be consciously aware and actively working to ensure these rights.
We believe in creating an environment where all voices are valued–an environment where age, color, religion, and gender preferences aren’t what divide, but what unites. We believe in a culture where mistakes are valued as our best teachers, where we are allowed to fail surrounded by a supportive community, where our preconceptions are challenged, where all feel welcome and respected, where human dignity and potential are recognized and ultimately realized in human ability, achievement, and success.
