Imago. Imagine with us...
Learners of all ages, colors, backgrounds, and religions taking classes together, learning how to use power tools to build sets, helping each other memorize lines, sewing costumes, stretching, zip-zap-zupping, using the spatter technique, calling cues, hanging and focusing lights, shuffle-ball-changing and laughing together.
Singing one song.
Telling one diverse and inclusive story.
Imago, Latin for image and the root word of imagination, reflecting the seminal idea that we are created to create. Nothing calls forth creativity like the sense of belonging, the aesthetic accountability, and the freedom to experiment found in true community. As that community is built, we are inviting you to experience not only what it produces, but also to be part of its creation. The need for the goodness, beauty, and truth such a community could share has never been greater.
Imago Performing Arts, a new arts organization located in Belton, seeks to offer itself not only as a home for audiences longing for the product such a community offers but as a place of belonging for artists of all ages yearning for the process such a community builds. Given how hard the COVID pandemic has hit the performing arts, we are preparing an artistically creative environment now to welcome back actors, dancers, musicians, visual artists, technicians, and audiences.
Take a look at the dream as you explore what we’re all about—we are offering classes for children and adults in art, dance, music, and theatre and have some supremely talented individuals to head these areas. Check back frequently to take a look at our artistic season composed of plays, concerts, dance productions, and art installations.
