We've found this time to be invaluable. It's the first time we all meet each other--you'll perform for each other, having the opportunity to tell your story before a small live audience composed of your fellow storytellers before the main event. It's so great to be able to get a feel for audience response and reaction.
You'll also have the opportunity to tell your story in the performance space with a mic. The whole idea is to help you become comfortable before you tell your story to a larger audience.

How do you want them getting this to you?

◇ We'll start promptly at 7:00 and don't expect to go any later than 9:00.
◇You'll be timed. We hold to a strict 10-minute max with a 30-second grace period. As you rehearse, we suggest you do so out loud and time it so you're not surprised when we tell you you have to cut two minutes off your story!
◇ Hephzibah and I will each give you verbal comments and suggestions and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
◇ Between dress rehearsal and performance night, you'll be expected to arrange one more rehearsal with one of our staff so we can work with you on implementing any changes that might be necessary. This can be in person or via Zoom, at whatever time and method is convenient to both you and our staff members.

◇ There will be an intermission, so you can mingle with friends then if you've already told your story or hide in a backroom sucking your toes if you haven't. Your choice! There's always a lot of mingling after the event. And far less toe-sucking.
◇ We usually plan to go out to get something to eat and drink after the show. Feel free to invite family and friends that may be attending.
